Many of you know that TechSoup is a nonprofit that works with nonprofits and also suppports libraries largely via our MaintainIT Project (now TechSoup for Libraries). The original project was funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and is now part of a broader TechSoup program to reach libraries and ensure they have the technical resources, support, and information they need to work effectively.
Through the MaintainIT Project, resources, articles, spotlights on librarians, webinars, and events have been created, with your help — all with the greater goal of helping libraries share their expertise with one another, learn new skills, and improve their technology infrastructure and outreach. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the success of these programs with your contributions to the articles, interviews for the spotlights and Cookbooks, participation in the webinars and events, and comments and guest posts on the blog.
Below, is a request from a firm brought in by the Gates Foundation to measure how their investment into library technology through supporting programs like the MaintainIT Project has helped libraries improve their use of technology infrastructure and public access computing. If you're a library and have used any of the resources mentioned above, please take a few minutes to offer your feedback in their survey. This will help the Foundation understand the effectiveness of their program support and it will help us, at TechSoup and TechSoup for Libraries, continue to improve our programs to best suit your needs.
