To help celebrate Earth Day's 40th anniversary, we're giving away two refurbished laptops to subscribers of our By the Cup (BTC) newsletter.

At TechSoup, we're dedicated to reducing, reusing, recycling, especially in computer reuse and refurbishment, including our Refurbished Computer Initiative (RCI). This program extends the life cycles of commercial-grade IT equipment that comes from corporations and other institutions, and it also provides free end-of-life shipping and responsible recycling when you're done with it.

The laptops we're giving away to two lucky winners are very similar to those available to nonprofits and libraries through our RCI program. Both laptops are refurbished Dell Pentium M D610 notebooks with 1.86 GHz processors, 512 MB RAM, and 40 GB hard drives. And, they come with versions of Microsoft Windows XP and Office 2003 Standard Edition preinstalled. Special thanks to our refurbishing partner, Redemtech, who helped us to acquire and prepare these generously donated machines.
