Introducing Kyla Hunt: Our new Webinar Program Manager!

Greetings, and allow me to introduce myself! My name is Kyla Hunt, and I am the new Webinar Program Manager here at TechSoup Global.

Coming primarily from a library background, I wanted to take a moment to greet the TechSoup for Libraries folks. I have had the pleasure of working in a variety of library types throughout Texas and California (including a public library, an academic library, and, most recently, a state agency), and I am so excited to be here, managing the webinar program at TechSoup Global! To see more about my experience, check out my LinkedIn profile HERE.

In recent history, I have provided technology and social media training to librarians around the state of Texas, including providing face-to-face technology training Texas for the Small Library Management Training Program. One of the things that I am most proud was co-creating the online web 2.0 training Beyond Two Steppin'; the co-author of this course, Distance Learning Consultant Naomi DiTullio, also created its predecessor A Dozen Ways to Two-Step. Both programs, while created with Texas librarians in mind, would be great resources for any librarian (or non-profit employee!) who wants to learn more about web 2.0 tools.

Other technology resources that librarians might find useful?

You may also want to check out our upcoming webinar, Free Windows 7 Curriculum: Basic Computer Training at Your Library or Nonprofit to be held on Thursday, August 18, 11 a.m. Pacific Time.

This webinar features My PC program manager Todd Watts, and includes background on using Windows 7 and Windows Live Essentials to teach basic computer and photo-editing skills. We’ll also highlight lessons and resources offered with the My PC Series. The webinar will strive to help you understand how the My PC curriculum could be applied at your library or organization. This webinar is suited for public libraries and nonprofits in the United States interested in providing Windows 7 classes to the public or staff.
